Chris Jackson is a tax attorney with substantial education and training in the field. Mr. Jackson has earned both a Juris Doctorate and Masters in Tax Law from Villanova University School of Law in Villanova, Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice law throughout the great state of Texas. Mr. Jackson has joined Bailey & Galyen to assist in their tax practice along with corporate matters such as contract review, commercial
litigation and corporate transaction counsel.

Mr. Jackson was born on Galveston Island, Texas. His father was a police officer for the Galveston P.D. for 23 years, which served as Chris’s inspiration to dedicate his career to law. He was raised in Santa Fe, Texas and his parents still live there to this day.

After graduating from Santa Fe High School he attended the University of Houston and earned a bachelor’s degree in the major of Political Science, with a minor in Business Administration. He then moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to attend law school at Villanova University School of Law. Chris excelled there and earned two degrees in the span of just over three years, his J.D. and Masters of Law in Tax Law. While studying, Chris was also simultaneously the Managing Editor of the Villanova Law Journal of Catholic Social Thought and a Staff Writer for the Villanova Sports and Entertainment Law Journal, where he wrote his journal article on the tax consequences of legalized online gaming. Chris and other native Texan law students created the Lone Star Law Students group, which served the needs of Texans displaced after Hurricane Ike. Chris was able to pursue a dual degree program while at Villanova Law, which allowed him to earn both his degrees in impressive time.

Chris spent his immediate years after graduating law school consulting for tax firms and their corporate clients. His experience has touched on numerous industries in Houston, including oil and gas, energy, waste and retail entities. While consulting, he has garnered experience regarding the legal ramifications of corporate formation, tax controversy and partnership/LLC tax law. After returning to Houston, he passed the Texas Bar and was sworn in by Judge Marc Carter in November of 2013. Chris now lives near the Galleria in Houston with his dog Bayou. He is an avid Houston sports fan.

Mr. Jackson joined Bailey and Galyen in 2014 and now represents their clients in tax law and corporate matters.
